He apologized?

"Hukum! Wake up!"

Ved opened his eyes lazily, rubbing them with the back of his hand. "Maa, what happened?" he asked, still half-asleep.

Indu stood beside him with a cup of tea, smiling softly. "Hukum, why were you sleeping here, on the couch?"

Ved blinked rapidly, trying to remember. "Uh... nothing, maa! I just... had some work," he lied quickly, sitting upright. "I have to go to the office, maa. I'm getting late!"

Indu chuckled. "It's Sunday, . Your baba told me there's no important meeting today."

Ved's eyes widened. "O-okay... then I'll just... go to my room," he stammered.

"Alright," Indu said, shaking her head with an amused smile.

Ved quickly rushed to his room and knocked gently. The door opened after a few seconds-and he stood there, completely frozen.

"Breathtaking beauty..." he whispered under his breath.

Ruhi stood in front of the mirror, draped in a soft white saree with a golden border. Her hair flowed like silk down her back, and the red bindi on her forehead glowed against her fair skin.

Ved's throat went dry. How can someone look this divine? It's feeling like a crime to look away from my rani sa" he thought, unable to take his eyes off her. Her lips curved slightly, her eyes filled with quiet fire-the same fire she had last night when she declared,

"You threw my chocolates, Hukum-sa... now don't talk to me."

Ved gulped. He knew he had messed up. Badly.

Ruhi turned, catching him staring. "Come in," she said coldly, her tone calm but sharp.

He nodded instantly, following her like a guilty puppy.

He still doesn't get it, I thought, adjusting my earrings. He thinks saying sorry will fix everything? He threw away my chocolates--the ones I waited for the whole week to come!

But then.. I smirked. No, Hukum-sa. You'll have to earn my forgiveness.

"I think it's time to tease him a little," she whispered to herself.

Aloud, I said, "So, now be ready, Hukum-sa. For your punishment."

He blinked nervously. "P-punishment?"

I crossed my arms, giving him a queen-like look. "Go and do your work. And don't come into this room until I call you."

Ved, like an obedient child, rushed out immediately. He went to the gym, did his workouts like a man on a mission, then showered, dressed up, and stood outside her room -waiting for permission to enter.

Exactly at 8:30 a.m., he knocked lightly.

"Rani-sa... I'm on time," he said breathlessly.

Ruhi didn't even look up. "Hmm," she replied flatly while fixing her earrings.

He sighed. This is going to be harder than I thought.

Ruhi struggled to wear her earrings. "Ahh! These earrings are impossible!" she muttered.

Ved stepped closer. "I can help you... if you want," he offered softly.

She hesitated, then gave him a short nod.

Ved gently slid the earring through her ear and, without realizing, filled her hair partition with vermillion (sindoor).

"I'm sorry, Rani-sa," he said quietly. "I swear, I won't repeat my mistakes again."

Ruhi froze for a moment, her heart beating faster. But then she composed herself. "You can leave now, Hukum-sa," she said, turning away.

Ved's face fell, but he obeyed, following her out like a puppy still seeking forgiveness.

At the Dining Table

Everyone was waiting for Ruhi and Ved so they can start the breakfast. As soon as they entered, the teasing began.

"Rani-sa, why is Hukum sa following you like this?" Darsh chuckled.

Ruhi didn't notice that Ved was still holding her pallu. When she realized, she immediately snatched it back.

"Ohhoo! Hukum, aap to rani sa ke pyar me pagal ho chuke hai," Divya teased."Pagal?are ham to inke pyar me fana ho chuke hai" he said making everyone choke. "Oohoo, Rajasthan ke Rajas sa aaj galib ban gaye hai". The ooh's aah's continued.

Ruhi ignored them and sat down. "Sit" she ordered.

Ved quietly took his seat beside her. "I'm really sorry, Rani-sa... please forgive me," he whispered.

"Eat silently, Hukum-sa,or I'll kick you out of here also," she replied without looking at him.

Ved sighed, obeying quietly, eating whatever she served him. Ruhi hid a small smile.

His guilt, his silence, and his puppy-like eyes were exactly the punishm

ent she wanted.
